GOLD- MOVIE REVIEW
GOLD- MOVIE REVIEW-HONEST ANALYSIS
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Mauni Roy, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadhan, Kunal Kapoor
Director: Reema Kagi
Rating: 3.5 / 5.00
Introduction
Sport binds Indian, like anything cannot do in that manner and if it is a match against your neighbor or England, patriotism is always high. Reema Kagy's Gold is a fictitious account, which showcases India's win in the1948 Olympics as an independent nation for the first time, inspired by some true events of India's first gold medal.
Summary
First of all, we have Tapan Das (Akshay Kumar) as Team Manager of the Indian Hockey team, who are struggling to keep a team together for the Olympics. The film starts with the 1936 Olympics in Berlin and we have Kunal Kapoor leading the team winning the game against the Nazis. After a 12 year deficit, when an international hockey match is played then Tapan becomes irrelevant, in 1948, the London Olympics comes. Bengali speaking managers are at the center of the plot because they grab the opportunity and come out to scout the talent for the national team.
Plot
When India is divided, things go to toss, and the same occurs to the team also. The riot that comes, gives us some ample emotional moment in the film - like the former Indian captain, who has to leave Pakistan to save his life, the Indian Muslims who choose to stay in India after partition. Akshay Kumar shares the spotlight with the players of the Hockey team led by the Emperor (Kunal Kapoor), Imperial Ali Shah (Vineet Kumar Singh), the royal family of Raghubir Pratap Singh (Amit Sadhu), Himmat Singh (Sunny Kaushal), and the team We can trust.
Character Development
In the form of a royal, Raghuhir shows class and ego in his role; Dare is confident as a turbaned turban player. It is nice to see Kunal Kapoor as the emperor because he trains the team for the Olympics. Although we watch Akshay Kumar in a major way because he is facilitating the film's progress, other artists get to shine their fair share. Although not entirely relevant to the film, the small backstory of the players could have invested more from them. But the story is not about them at all - it's about India, despite participating in the Olympics and emerging winners. There is an attempt to highlight patriotism in the film because we will see slavery (200 years of harassment) more than once in the film '200 Years' of the words Tapan and his wife Monobina (Mouni Roy). And not to mention, the thick Bengali accent interacts perfectly in this movie.
Rima Kagi seems effective enough to give us a film with all its moving parts in a more efficient manner, even if it seems far from reality. Akshay plays a completely hypothetical character Tapan Slave, which is closely related to Indian hockey since the second world war, when 'British Indian' hockey magicians under the great Indian Chand, in 1936, from Germans in Berlin Participated in the Olympics (in the movie, we see strange character playing Hitler Stomp out of the stadium), when the freedom struggle and the Quit India Movement was at its peak, resulting in Form bloody partition which had divided the subcontinent, and separated the Indian hockey team. Some went to Pakistan, some in Australia, others became distracted.
Analysis
The film may remind you of Sharukh’s CHAK DE INDIA! With conditions like play drama, hockey federation politics and intervention in India, team players involving themselves into the group according to their states and in the end all the players come together as a team to make the country proud. There may be slight flaws, but gold is made of small moments that will warm your heart. Initially, in a few minutes of the film, we defeated the Nazis by the team 'British India' and the Union jack gets elevated, so Tapan gets out of the Indian tricolor and the players are involved in saluting the flag. Finally, during the semi-finals, we see Indians excited for the Pakistani team against the Netherlands and are returning to please the Indian team in the final with Pakistani
This Bengali Babu Tapan has been abandoned, despite the words 'Petesh' and brain power, despite the teachings of his crazy wife Monobina (Roy), a rug-tag team was dragged and slipped despite being taken to Olympic gold is. Also, there is also a gentle Parsi gentleman who facilitates things between Tapan and his boys, in which, among others, there are nervous Thakur (sadh) which will play only centrally, young Sardar (skills) which are so good That 'turup ka ikka', player (lion) who chooses his side after 1947 also chooses the former captain (Kapoor) who becomes the advisor.
Duration is beautifully done, and the estimated sports film Trop-Underground is coming up, the conflicts are being resolved, the last minute fortune reversal- young players keep tempo, Sunny skills are initially doing stand-out job.
It is not that Akshay is not complete. He immerses himself in his role, when things are frightening, not only for fooling his wife for some monetary handouts, after drinking alcohol after the shock of her, always keeping her love in the game at the center Relieve yourself But it all takes a lot of screen time, and focuses important attention to the game and players.
What to be avoided
So do some unnecessary song-and-dance that slow down the speed. Renewable little, and to reduce the songs, gold will be better, better. Despite these problems, the film is worth the watch, the glow of well-done comedy, the skirmish between the players, and the emerging ends. When 'Tiranga' went upstairs, there were tears in my eyes, and I excited everyone in the theater.
The last 30 minutes in any sports movie are important and according to the rule, gold plays. It provides endless nail-biting sequences with the powerful drum which connects to high-octane climax. We know the storyline, we know mountaineering, but still, you cannot help but become a cheerleader. As drama comes out and the Indian national anthem plays, some of the viewers were standing to pay their respect. This is the moment where the film won!
