Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15th August. India's Independence Day is a great day for the people of India. On this day India got independence from British rule after long years of slavery. On August 15, 1947, to celebrate the independence of the country independently of the British Empire, it has been declared as a national and gazetted holiday throughout India.

On this day, offices, banks, post offices, markets, stores, businesses, organizations, etc. all national, state and local government offices are closed. However, public transport is completely unaffected. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the capital of India, although it is celebrated by students and teachers including public community and society in all schools, colleges and other educational institutions.

 History of India's Independence Day

 

In 1857 a great freedom revolution was started by the people of India against the British rule. That Indian rebellion is called the Great Revolt, the revolt of 1857, the Indian Rebellion, the Revolt of 1857, and the Sephoy Uprising. It was started in 1857 against the army of British East India Company in Bengal Presidency on May 10. Through that revolt (Government of India Act 1858), Indian freedom fighters realized the British Crown was free to control India.
