Story:
'Manto' is a biopic built on the life of a famous writer, Sadat Hassan Manto, in which his life has grown from the ups and downs of controversy and pleasant moments.Review:
There is a strange loneliness in the life of the authors, and the companionship of that loneliness is found in fictional stories and characters, which are also in harmony with truth. Despite being surrounded by people, they are lost in their own world. Or say that they have to make a lot of effort to adjust their real and imagined life. The great poet and writer of Urdu, Sadat Hassan Manto, seemed far more real than the real world around him, despite his imagination, the bitter reality of the society, especially the bitter truth that he himself felt closer to.The cinematography of Kartik Vijay and production design of Rita Ghosh emerges from a perfect scene before and after independence. It looks as if the film has been shot in the same period. And how can the Ratna of the Hindi film industry, Nawazuddin Siddiqui be forgotten? He has blossomed in the role of Manto. All the actors have worked hard on the acting front. Then, like Nandita Das, the director becomes even more relaxed. In the role of Manto, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is unmatched. Nawazuddin has shown that he is a top rated actor. Then Nawaz has caught the nuances of the character of Manto and has presented him on the screen, he is not talking about everyone.
Nawazuddin Siddiq has also said on several occasions that he worked hard to get into this character, read and understand Manto. Not only this, but Rasika Duggal has also gone deep in the role of Manto's wife, Safiya. The meaning of having a son of Manto is understandably well understood in the film. By the way, Rasika Duggal had learned till one time to read and understand Manto. Tahir Raj Bhasin has also won the heart of Shyam's character. Nandita Das works with them in the way the characters come in the film.
Actress and filmmaker Nandita Das have introduced this separation between real and imaginary society in the life of Manto that is very interesting and heart-touching on the screen. Manto has been a key part of censorship in life. Articles written from censorship to obscenity were written on his writings. Censorship was a part of Manto's life, which he had been lifelong and what kind of distress, what kind of situation it might have been, Nandita Das showed it in the film very deeply and beautifully. From the Indo-Pak division to the mindset of the male-dominated society, religious harmlessness, love for Bombay, many sentences like love are served to the audience in an interesting way. And how can the Ratna of the Hindi film industry, Nawazuddin Siddiqui be forgotten? He has blossomed in the role of Manto.
Manto is away from a routine biopic, and makes the perfect medium for Manto lovers to understand the life and mood of Manto. There is also the Ismat Chagatai in the film. Nandita Das has made Manto's biopic with full sincerity. The time of the 1940s comes out, and it has been presented very closely. After seeing Manto, the same thing comes in mind that if it were converted into a web serge, it would have been more deadly.
My final reaction after watching the film
